Current licensing facts
Maryland has a full statewide apprentice-to-master structure
The Board separately licenses apprentices, journeyperson electricians, and master electricians.
Approved apprenticeship can be especially valuable
A qualifying 8,000-hour/576-classroom-hour apprenticeship completed within the Board’s timing requirements can support a journeyperson license without the normal experience and examination steps.
